  • Located in California, USA, the enterprise is a well-known quick-frozen food manufacturer in North America. In its production process, the quick-frozen food needs to undergo nitrogen preservation and nitrogen-filled packaging to extend the shelf life. Meanwhile, the enterprise must comply with the U.S. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) food contact safety standards and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) hygiene regulations.


Core Pain Points

  • The traditional bottled nitrogen supply has the problem of unstable pressure, leading to large differences in the tightness of nitrogen-filled packaging. The food shelf life is only 30 days, which is far lower than the industry standard of 60 days;

Solution

  • GNEE customized two sets of 1800Nm³/h PSA nitrogen generation systems, designing a solution focused on food fresh-keeping needs:
  • 1. Adopting carbon molecular sieve adsorption technology, the nitrogen purity is stably maintained at 99.99%. It is equipped with food-grade sterile pipelines and online dew point monitoring devices to ensure that the nitrogen is free of oil and impurities, complying with FDA standards;
  • 2. Equipped with a dual adsorption tower redundancy design, when one set of equipment is under maintenance, the other set can switch automatically to ensure 24-hour continuous nitrogen supply;
  • 3. Adapted to the U.S. 480V/60Hz power grid, it adopts an intelligent PLC control system, which can dynamically adjust the nitrogen supply according to the number of packaging machines, reducing energy consumption during non-production periods.


Application Effects

  • Quality Upgrade: The qualified rate of nitrogen-filled packaging tightness increased from 82% to 99.5%, the food shelf life was extended to 65 days, and the loss rate decreased from 5% to 1.2%, reducing annual losses by more than $400,000;
  • Cost Optimization: The nitrogen production cost is only $0.04/Nm³, saving more than $420,000 annually compared with purchased nitrogen. The equipment has obtained USDA hygiene certification, complying with North American food industry regulations;
  • Efficient Adaptation: The equipment start-stop response time is ≤10 minutes, and the nitrogen supply pressure is stably maintained at 0.6-0.8MPa, perfectly matching the continuous operation needs of 20 packaging production lines.
